<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CIl'Y OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />OCTOBER 3~ 19b1 - 8~:0l~ P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gareau~ Mayor; Bruce MacDonald President of Council; <br />Henry Casters Ralph Christman Dewey Limpert~ A.L. Mangani, Lillian Nicholas, <br />George Porter. <br />Also present were I1oyd E. Barnes, Service Director; C.J. Oviatt, Solicitor; <br />James T. Wilson's Safety Director; Alex Kanareff, Engineer; William L, Gerlach, <br />Finance Director; and Louise Ha11~ Clerk, <br />Absent: Francis J. OfNeill. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of September lg, 1961 were approved as <br />written. <br />The Mayor proclaimed the week of October 20, 1961 thru October 27, 1961 as <br />UNITED NATIONS WEEK. <br />Mr. Tom Maleski, 28l~5 Walter Rd., reque ted that something be done about the <br />proposed open drainage ditch to be put~l3y the Candelite Subdivision along <br />side of his property. <br />Mr. Christman advised that this matter is being investigated and that the <br />Developer is considering the possibility of tiling the portion of the ditch <br />that runs along Mr. Maleski~s property. <br />Mr. Christman moved seconded by Mrs. Nicholas that the Clerk contact Floyd <br />Browne and Associates to find out how much further west on Gessner Road the <br />sewer could be extended amd what the increased cost would be if the sewer <br />could be exterried west on Gessner to include Evelyn and Eleanor Drives <br />now that the trunk sewer on Walter P~oad from Gessner to Maple Ridge will be <br />deepened L~ ft. to accept sewage. Christman reported on the Streets, Sewers, Sidewalks and Ditches Committee <br />Meeting of September 21, 1961 regarding the pe~ssilility of installing a pump <br />on laundry tubs in basements and requested Councilts opinions on this matter. <br />After discussion of this problem Council decided that legislation to be <br />introduced would cover this situation. <br />Mss. Nicholas moved, seconded by Mr. Caster, that the Solicitor be directed <br />to prepare legislation amending Ordinance 3191, Section 1, sub--section c to <br />read that the building sewer shall be installed under specifications to serve <br />each particular property. «Yeas~~ Caster, Christman Limpert, Mangani~ ~ . <br />NvehoJ.as, Porter. <br />Mr. Porter reported on the Safety Committee's meeting of September 26, 1961. <br />Mr. Porter moved, seconded by Mr. Limpert, that the Solicitor be directed <br />to prepare legislation authorizing the removal of the No Parking signs on <br />the east side of West Park Drl.ve and the west side of East Park Drive. "Yeas" <br />Caster, Christman, Limpert, Mangani, Nichols, Porter. <br />Mr. L•impert advi sed that he had obtained some information regarding the Postal <br />Authorities proposal that North Olmsted become a part of the Cleveland Postal <br />District but that the Legislative Committee was not able to meetrsto discuss <br />this matter and requested more time to check into this matter fully. <br />Mr. Christman moved! seconded by Ntr. Lampert, that the Postal. Auth orities <br />proposal be tabled until the Committee can give their recommendations. 'tYeas~- <br />Caster, Christman, Lampert, Mangani, Nicholas, Porter. <br />Ms. Mangani reported on the Plats Committee Meeting°of Sept. 23, 1961 pertaining <br />to the development of land from Columbia To Fleharty, south side of Lorain <br />north to Brookpark and advised that they are waiting to hear from Mr. P~atchell <br />regarding an alternate suggestion for developing this property. <br />Mrs. Nicholas adyntsed that she and Mr. Lampert and Mr. Ctheill had attended <br />the meeting with the Cleveland Transit System and presented each member of <br />Council witr~ a copy of the survey of our Bus Line made by CTS and stated that <br />I~r. O~Neill would probably have a complete report to make at the next meeting. <br />
