<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETINI OF THE fA UNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />MAY 3, 2961 » 8;17 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gareau~ Mayor; Henry Caster, Ralph Chri.stman~ Dewey <br />Limpert, A.L. Mangani, Lillian Nicholas, Francis J. O~Neill. <br />Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; James T. Wilson, Safety <br />Director; C.J. Oviatt, Solicitor; Alex Kanareff, Engineer; William Gerlach <br />Finance Director; and Louise Hall, Clerk, <br />Absent; Bruce MacDonald, President of Council; George Forter. <br />In the absence of Bruce MacDonald, Francis J. OtNeill took the chair as President <br />of Council. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of April 18, 1961 were approved as written, <br />The Mayor read a letter from The North Olmsted Historical Society explaining <br />their purpose and requesting the City~s aid in securing a house for a historical <br />museum to be placed in North Olmsted Park. The ::8a~iety also requested that <br />a member of the Council be appointed to serve as a trustee for their group. <br />The Mayor also read a communication from Haleper & Stevenson, Consulting Engineers, <br />regarding the construction of an Incinerator Plant in or in the neighborhood of <br />Westlake and the possibility of our participation in this plant. <br />The Clerk read a communication from the North Olmsted Fire Department inviting <br />all City Officials and their wives and or husbands to see a film ~~Otm Obligation~~ <br />on school safety at the Community Cabin at 9 P.M. on Monday, June 5th. <br />The Clerk read a memorandum from the Solicitor regarding complaints concerning <br />sewer problems on Sunset Oval and recommending that the Council take ste~-s to <br />restrain building in that area until the developer complies with. the requested <br />corrective measures. <br />Mrs. Nicholas moved, seconded by Mr. Christman to restrain building on Sunset <br />Oval until the developer complies with the requested corrective measures. Philip Engoglia appeared before Council requesting aid in alleviating a <br />storm sewer problem in his subdivision, <br />Mr. Christman moved, s ecanded by Mr. Mangani, that the City do the necessary <br />ditch work to z`~+htf3rcithe drainage situation in the Engoglia Subdivision <br />conditioned on the obtaining of an easement from the County and any other <br />necessary easements and that if further development is made that the ditch be <br />tiled at the Developerts expense. "Yeasty Caster, Christman, Limpert, Mangani, <br />Nicholas, O~Neill. <br />The Safety Director advised of difficulties encountered over safety precautions <br />taken by the Sewer Contractors and was advised to enforce the necessary laws 3to <br />that the proper safety precau~,ions are met. <br />The Engineer turned the plans for the Alexander Road Culvert over to the Service <br />Director and Sewer Committee for study. <br />The Engineer stated that the Varady subdivision has a problem similar to the <br />Engoglia subdivision and advised that a request has been made to the State to <br />make atie-in to the Brookpark trunk line which should take care of the situation. <br />The Engineer presented the preliminary plat for Ohio Sores #6 to the Plats <br />Committee. <br />The Service Director advised of a necessary elevation change in th? Claque Rd. <br />sewer plans due to the location of a ~.2n water main. <br />Mr. Christman. moved, seconded by Mr. OrNeill, instructing the Service Director <br />not to pay Floyd Browne & Associates any additional compensation for the redesign <br />of the Claque Rd. sewer until the matter of wherein the fault lies is settled. <br />t~Yeast- Caster, Christman, Limpert, Mangani~ Nicholas, O~Neill. <br />
