<br />The minutes of the regular meeting of Council, September 16th, and the
<br />adjourned meeting of Council, September 22nd, were approved as read. The
<br />minutes of the adjourned meeting of September 28th, were approved as
<br />corrected,
<br />The Mayor reported a communication had been received from the Department
<br />of Industrial Relations in regards to an amendment made to the Building
<br />Ordinance No. 2895 fulfilling the requirements of the Engineer, with
<br />respect to the Ohio Board of Building standards. The Building Commissioner
<br />has already requested the revised building codes.
<br />The I~fayor reported r1r. Robert Taylor tendered his resignation from the
<br />North Olmsted Planning Commission because of a change in his job schedule,
<br />and therefore appointed Mr. Richard Mongello, 4722 Bailey Road to fill
<br />the unexpired term. It was moved by Mr. ~iilson, seconded by Mr6 Hinkel
<br />that the appointment be approved. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, I:ramer, Lynch,

<br />The Mayor reported the rlayors' Association endorsed membership in the
<br />Cleveland Safety Council; the services offered are numerous; their sta~_ff
<br />is vary active; and membership is to be considered.
<br />The n"iayor reported relative to communications from the Department of Health,
<br />Education, and ~delfare Regional Office, Chicago, Illinois, dated September
<br />28th and October 5th in connection with the Federal Sewage Treatment f^;orks
<br />Grant, which read in part as follows:
<br />Letter September 28th, advised t>~at application for Federal Grant funds
<br />under the provisions of Public Law 660 has been reviewed by their office.
<br />"The sewage treatrr;ent facility you propose meets criteria for Federal aid
<br />and is included in the approved water pollution control plan for your
<br />State, This project has received approval and priority certification from
<br />the State water pollution control agency.
<br />We therefore tender herewith an offer of a Federal Grant in the amount of
<br />X250,000,00,
<br />For purposes of administrative simplicity, Federal participation in your
<br />project is being; restricted solely to the estimated plant construction
<br />cost of '~1,3r/0,875.00. This procedure does not affect the amount of the
<br />grant offer, inasmuch as the estimated plant cost is sufficient to support
<br />the maximum grant allowable,
<br />We are enclosing three copies of Federal form PHS-2680-1, Part A. The
<br />acceptance on page 3 should be signed, the question at the bottom of the
<br />page answered and two copies returned to this office through the Ohio
<br />Water Pollution Control 3oard. Also enclosed are four copies of Federal
<br />form PHS-2690-2, Part B, Tre form "Supplemental Project Information"
<br />should be completed with the required attached documents and three copies
<br />forwarded to tY~is office through the Ohio Water Pollution Control 3oard,t'

<br />The letter of October 5th provides a more complete understanding of the
<br />City's responsibilities in being offered a Federal Sewage Treatment ?~;`orks
<br />Grant, stating as follows:
