O'Neill, Councilmen Boehmer, Giesser, Limpert, <br />Prokasy, Beringer (late), Speedling, West. <br />Also present.: Mayox Ralph Christman, Service Director Henry Caster, Law Director <br />J. Bruce Kitchen, Finance Director Wflliam Gerlach, City Engineer <br />Michael Rarhan, Clerk of Council Nora Hill. <br />Meeting was called to order by President O'Nei 11, at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of December 5, 1972 were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman reported the following: I) Council in receipt of copy of letter <br />from Mayor Lowther of Lakewood regarding the future of pct lic tranaportatian <br />in Cuyahoga County, and sugp;esting the Mayor's Association spearhead saes sort <br />of help for C.T.S. Letter outlines the problems of C.T.S. and the pr€~ l~s <br />without C.T.S. and encourages the Mayors Association to take the initiative <br />in trying to solve these problems. Mayor Christman stated this is a crucial <br />question in the whole area and one which everyone is well awax-~ of and is <br />affected by it whether we have our awn bus line or not; <br />2) received letter from the Teamsters Local requesting recognition of the <br />Te~nsters as the organizing agent for City Service Department. Lace Director <br />Kitchen has been in touch with them and matter is being worked out at this time <br />and there is no necessity for Council action. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, thaak+~d Mx. <br />Leroy Denslow of Elyria Crronicle for article on needy families; also thanked <br />residents and stores for their contributions. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairman FYnance Committee, reported there is legislation an <br />agenda covering transfer of appropriations. W311 request suspension of rule <br />requiring three readings due to timetable as far as end of year. <br />Mr. Speed3ing, Chairman Transportation Committee, reported this Committee met <br />an Dece~mbar 7th to discuss a request by 5 County Transit Study that a committee <br />of interested citizens be foratied to act as an Advisory Group to them is their <br />study of What should be done in the area of transportation in the five counties <br />of Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Medina. Committee has been formed con- <br />sisting of 12 members and first meeting with 5 County Transit StWCty, Chair+a <br />David Goss, will be on Wednesday, January 10, 1973, 8:00 P.M., City Rall. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee and Long Range <br />Planning Committee, reported the Building, Zoning & Development Committee met <br />and discussed and reviewed the following: <br />1) re parking layout of Regnatz Restaurant to be located on Lorain Rd. approved <br />by Committee. <br />Mr. West made a motion that Council approve the parking layout of Regstatz <br />Restaurant, seconded by Mr. Prokasy. Affirmative vote Boehmer, Giesser, Limpert, <br />Prokasy, Speedling, West. Motion carried. <br />
