O'Neill, Councilmen Boehmer, Giesser, Lampert, <br />Prokasy, Saringer, Speedling, ~,1est. <br />Also present: riayor Ralph Christman, Service Director Henry Caster, finance <br />Director t~iilliem Gerlach, Asst. Law Director E]].raaer Cowan, City <br />Engineer Michael Karhan, Clerk of Council Nora Hill. <br />Prior to Council Meeting a movie was shawta of successful project u~nderteken <br />by some members of Barton ~aad Church this past Sum~aer. Project consisted of <br />raising vegetables for inner city poor on a part of the hospital lend. <br />Meeting was callea~ to order by President O'Neill at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of *Iovember 21, 1972, were approved as read. <br />Service Director Caster reported the following: 1) sanitary sewer repaf.rs on <br />Stoneybrook are about two-thirds complete. Existing repairs are at the east <br />end of Ston+eybrook and west end where previously T.V. cameras could not get <br />through. Gametes were there today and there are at least three repairs to be <br />made and a section that Cass under water. Estimates total repairs to be complete <br />by next Council Meeting. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, reported she attended <br />a meeting of the Legislation Information Exchange Committee on Desea~er 2, 1972, <br />at Berea City Hall. Following topics Caere discussed: 1) recycling by pyrolysis, <br />which is supposed to be the best way to dispose of solid wastes. In a few <br />months this Coes~ittee would like to hold a meeting on a countp-~wid+e basis and <br />have representatives come out to explain this method of pyz-olysis; <br />2) Establishment of an area equipment inventory for the purpose of s~fp~roeal <br />usage, obviating expensive duplication in special cases; <br />3) Request that other City Councils pass resolutions in support of Cleweswt''s <br />to regulate the sale of son-returnables; <br />4) Resolutions requesting the Ohio State Legislature to amend the liquor control <br />laws to require liquor permit application hearings to be held in the municipality <br />of the proposed permit location. If Resolution is in existence, what would be <br />a meaningful campaign toward this goal. <br />Mr. Giesser, Chairman Intxa Governmental Relations & Legislation Committee, re- <br />ported Legislation Cc~iCtee met on Deeember 4, 1972, and discussed following <br />items: 1) Uniform bicyele ordinance throughout Cuyahoga Comanunities which is <br />being sponsored by the Autcmobiie Club. Only difference bet:we~ uafarm bicycle <br />ordinance and North Olmsted's is that the uniform bicycle ordinance will require <br />all bicycles are to be ridden an sidewalks, whets there are sidewalks, sad not an <br />streets. Conmsittee felt this would be an excellent idea. There will be other <br />meetings with the Triple A, which Mr. Giesser will attend and draft up uniform <br />bicycle ordinance; <br />2) External Housing Code put out by Cuyahoga County Board of Realtors. Meeting <br />attended by Mr. Giesser and Safety Director Carnahan. Code has been distributed <br />"° to Committee Members ~d are presentlq reviewing same and considering isgislation. <br />
