@~d_ <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTBS-OF THE MSETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF TRB CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 17, 1976 <br />Present: President of Council Dewey Lampert, Councilmen Beatp, Boehmer, <br />Goggin, Beringer, Sharpe, West. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Christman, <br />Director Henry Caster, Asst. <br />of Council Nora Rill. <br />Law Director Michael Gateau, Service <br />City Faegineer David McDrarmott, Clerk <br />Absent: Councilman Wilasosky <br />Meeting was called to order by President Lampert at 8:04 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of August 3, 1976, were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman reported: 1) proclaimed week of August 29th - September 6th, <br />1976, as "Fight Runger in North Olmsted Week". Tbia is in cooperation with an <br />Eagle Scout project by Mr. Todd Retch who became aware that some of the food <br />available for distribution to needy people thru FISH and our Dept. of Humsn <br />Resources seed replenishment and he sad a group of other scouts have a proposal <br />to collect food for that purpose during that period of time; <br />2) received letter from Comsunity Development program, Coordinator for the <br />County Commissioners announcing that the County's application for the second <br />year Community Development Block Grams Funds has been approved in flee amo~t <br />of $1,785,000. and they are in the process of preparing imp}am~taton agra~ts, <br />environmental review and securing leases from the Dept. of Housing Develont. <br />We will be receiving copies of the agreement which must be executed by tea County <br />and the City for each project sad tt-ey advised us not to incur ~y cost for any <br />activity until we have the okay. We did have one item in there - $].340, for <br />the Jenkins Cabin move: at that time we were applying for a bicetttsmnial grant <br />from the State and this would be used to help supplement that me The grant <br />from the State is not forthcoming. Would like to get some feeling from Council <br />if they would want to use this $1340. for the Jenkins Cabin or ch~mge the <br />priority. Would like to recommend that we do spend it to help restore this cabin. <br />Law Director Gateau reported: 1) Ord. No. 76-127 on Agenda was brought about <br />by virtue of the Prosecutor and Law Director and people in the Police Rapt. <br />reviewing the change in drug abuse laws which were effective July 1, 1976; <br />so same has been placed is ordinance form for approval. <br />Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, reported Ccrirtittee met <br />August lb, 1976, and discussed the easement and release of 8" water main which <br />connects between City Line Subdivision and water main an Westminster Drive, <br />and requests legislation to accept this easement; <br />2) Comoi.ttee vas informed that So. Porter would be the next street to be <br />resurfaced which will be started in a couple of days; <br />3) Committee stands firm on its recommendation and that is that Clifford Drive <br />be the next priority for resurfacing and North-South Retmedy be patched. Request <br />legislation for additional monies to accomplish same, with Finance Committee <br />approval; <br />4) letter has been seat to President Berndsen of Westlake City Council regarding <br />the ditch mentioned in Co~mittee Rep©rt at last Council feting; <br />5) scheduled a Streets & Drainage Committee meeting on Sept. 1, 1975,"$:40 P.M., <br />City Rali, and request Mr. Childs and Mr. Caster to be in attendance. <br />
