MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />0F THE CITY OF NORTH QLMSTED <br />JUNE 7, 1983 <br />Present: President Pro Tem Yvonne Petrigac, Councilmen Bierman, Logan, <br />McKay, Saringer, Wilamosky, Woerpel. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finanee <br />Director Edward Boyle, Safety Director Eugene Petre, City Engineer <br />Ronald Zurawski, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: President of Council James Boefimer. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Pro Tem Petrigac at 8:15 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to .join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of Council Meetfng of Ma,y 17, 1983, were approved. <br />Before moving into regular business, President Pro Tem Petrigac announced that <br />Ordinance No. 83-62, establishing the complement of the Parks and Recreation De- <br />partment and affixing the campensation to be paid the members thereof, has been <br />added to the agenda, on first reading. There is a correction in Ordinance No. <br />83-69. Ttie ordinance should read the "Finance Director" shall enter into an <br />escrow agreement. Also, Ordinance Nos. 83--45 and 83-46, compensatton for North <br />Olmsted Municipal Bus Line employees, have been placed on third reading. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski stated that in response to Mrs. Petrigac's questions regarding <br />underground piping at Pick-n-Pay and at th.e new City Center, the coating or non- <br />coating of pipes dependa on the acidity of the soil, wfiich is why Pick-n-Pay <br />chose to coat their pipes and the City did not. <br />City Engineer Zurawski reported: 1) City of Westlake has acquired the necessary <br />right-of-way on the Dover Center Road Project and it was submitted to the County <br />Engineer, who, in turn, forwarded all the legal documents to the Department of <br />Transportation. <br />2) With respect to the Clague Road Project, meeting was held on June lst with rep- <br />resentatives from the Country Engineer's office, the Ohio Department of Transport- <br />ation and the City of Westlake, about the Clague Road culverts. County Engineer <br />will be required to make a hydraulic analysis to _justify the size of the five culverts <br />involved. At least one, and possibly the continuation of another, are in the City <br />of Westlake. Mayor Swietyniowski wi11 meet with Mayor Busch once a design proposal <br />for the hydraulic analysis and design for the culverts in 14estlake has been received <br />from the consultant. <br />3) On the Community Development Block Grant Project for the illumination of the <br />Senior Citizen Center and handicapped narking, a b3d package was approved by the <br />County Department of Community Development last week. Bid dates have been set for <br />the second and third Thursdays in June; pro.ject will be advertised in the Sun news- <br />papers and the Call and Post; bid openfng is set for July lst. Plans were prepared <br />by Michael Bell and drawn by draftsman James Hollenback; reviewed and revised by <br />City Engineer Zurawski.
