MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 15, 1984 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, 0"Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Safety Director Eugene Petre, Clerk of <br />Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:10 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to .join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of May 1, 1984, were approved. <br />Mrs. Petrigac moved Council amend the agenda to allow Resolution No. 84-42 to be <br />considered as the first order of business, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously <br />approved. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Resolution No. 84-42 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac on behalf of the Mayor and the <br />entire Council was given its first reading. A resolution commending the achieve- <br />ment of Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. Mrs. Petrigac moved for suspension of <br />rule requiring three readings, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously approved. Mrs. <br />Petrigac moved for adoption, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously approved. Reso- <br />lution No. 84-42 adopted and read in its entirety by President Boehmer. The <br />following Eagle Scout Award recipients were introduced and recognized by Council: <br />Dale Witenhafer, Mark Kiel, Michael Zika, Fredrich Hagemeister, Patrick Clifford, <br />Arthur Cooke, Daniel Franke, Mark Miller and Frank Miller III. <br />President Boehmer proceeded with the regular agenda and announced that a Special <br />Meeting of Council would be held on May 22nd, immediately following the 8 P.M. <br />Public Hearing. Council would consider Ordinance No. 84-32, an amendment to the <br />Zone Map, changing a Class B High-Rise Business Office and Professional District <br />to General Retail Business District; Ordinance No. 83-136, an amendment to <br />Section 1221.09 of the Zoning Code entitled "Supplementary Regulations of Chapter <br />1221 entitled "'Signs"; and Ordinance No. 83-137, amending Section 1174.06 of the <br />Zoning Code entitled "Rear Yard Restrictions" of Chapter 1174 entitled "Height and <br />Area Regulations for Retail Business Districts". <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) Board of Control met on Monday at 9:45 A.M. and <br />awarded the contract for the IJastewater Treatment Plant to Cedar Bay Construction <br />Company; work should start prior to the end of May. <br />2) Since the Scouts who are going to be Honorary City Officials are present, Mayor <br />read the following names and the Scouts were recognized by Council: Mayor - Mike <br />Greenley and Gail Krupa; President of Council - Daniel Franke; Ward 1 Councilman - <br />Kathy Riley; Ward 2 Councilman - Frank Miller; Ward 3 Councilman - Cheryl Gerky; <br />Ward 4 Councilman - Arthur Cook; Council-at-Large - Lisa Hauser, Mike Zika and <br />Hope Kross; Law Director - Mark Miller; Finance Director - Barb Novak; Servir_e <br />Director - Patrick Clifford; Safety Director - Laurie Skall; Budget and Management <br />
