<br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
<br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
<br />MARCH 27, 1984
<br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac,
<br />Rademaker, Saringer, Wilamosky.
<br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Finance Director Edward Boyle,
<br />Service Director Joseph Corrigan, Budget and Management Director
<br />James Logan, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell.
<br />Absent: Councilman Tallon.
<br />Special Meeting of Council was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:05 P.M.
<br />LEGISLATION;
<br />Resolution No. 84-4 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its second reading. A
<br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to advertise for bids for
<br />three (3) new police cars to be used by the Police Department and one (1) new
<br />chassis for Squad 51 to be used by the North Olmsted Fire Department, as amended.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky moved Council approve the amending of Resolution No. 84-4 to
<br />read "three (3) new police cars", second by Mr. O'Grady. Roll call on motion:
<br />Affirmative vote: Bierman, O'Grady, Saringer, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Petrigac,
<br />Rademaker. 4 Aye - 2 Nay - Motion carried.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky moved Council approve the amending of Resolution No. 84-4 by the
<br />striking out of "one (1) new car to be used by the Safety Director", second by
<br />Mrs. Saringer. Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: Petrigac, Saringer,
<br />Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bierman, O'Grady, Rademaker. 3 Aye - 3 Nay - Tie vote.
<br />President Boehmer cast deciding vote "yes". 4 Aye - 3 Nay - Motion carried.
<br />Ordinance No. 84-13 introduced by Mayor Swietyniowski was given. its second reading.
<br />An ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures
<br />for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1984, as amended.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky moved to amend Ordinance No. 84-13 by making some forty-two changes,
<br />with the stipulation that Council could consider some items separately, second
<br />by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved.
<br />Mrs. Petrigac moved to divide the issue and consider the line item, "Mayor's
<br />Vehicle Replacement" separately, second by Mr, Wilamosky. Roll call on motion:
<br />Affirmative vote: Bierman, Petrigac, Saringer. Negative vote: O'Grady, Rademaker,
<br />Wilamosky. 3 Aye - 3 Nay - Tie vote. President Boehmer cast deciding vote "no".
<br />3 Aye - 4 Nay - Motion failed.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky moved to amend line item "Skill Development: Mayor's Office - $1,500"
<br />to read"$1,000", second by Mr. O'Grady. Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote:
<br />Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, Saringer, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Rademaker. 5 Aye -
<br />1 Nay - Motion carried.
