<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CTTY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 6, 1984 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, 0"Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, [ailamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Safety Director Eugene Petre, Service <br />Director Joseph Corrigan, Director of Budget and Management <br />James Logan, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:05 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the regular Council Meeting of February 21, 1984, were approved. <br />Minutes of the special Council Meeting of March 1, 1984, were approved. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance No. 83-96, an ordinance amending Section <br />165.03 of the Codified Ordinances entitled "Landmarks Commission; Creation, <br />Composition and Terms", of Chapter 165 entitled "Landmarks Commission ", has been <br />removed from tonight's agenda. <br />Finance Director Boyle reported: 1) Yesterday., closed the $54,000 note sale; <br />sold to McDonald and Company at 6.55% interest, slightly lower than last year; <br />it will fall in line with. the City's other notes, being dated through September 20th, <br />and can be considered in the bond sale. <br />2) Received sewer charges, through November 1, 1983, from the City of Cleveland. <br />Have not received the 3% retainage. According to the contract, this is to be re- <br />viewed on an annual basis. They are now holding six quarters of T~orth Olmsted`s <br />money; has written to them and is awaiting a reply. Even though North Olmsted is <br />a separate sewer district, it is counted in the Regional Sewer Population Survey. <br />3) Council is in receipt of a list of the top twenty-five real estate tax payers <br />and the top twenty--five personal property tax payers, none of whom are delinquent. <br />CEI is top payer of real estate tax; Sherwin-TJilliams is top payer of property tax. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) Assistant Director of Law and Law Director have <br />been admitted to the iJnited States Supreme Court. Have submitted the brief in the <br />RTA Case. <br />?_) Have also filed a motion for summary judgment in the Cooper Case. <br />3) The first Romp Case has been dismissed; second Romp Case, the rezoning, is still <br />pending. <br />Safety Director Petre reported: 1) Building Tnspector Bliss Stevens has retired after <br />eleven and a half years of dedicated service to the City of North Olmsted. <br />2) Complimented the Service Department on their fine job of snow removal and thanked <br />them for rescuing a number of immobilized police cars during the last snow storm. <br />Alsp, commented pn the outstanding job done by the Police Department in handling many <br />emergencies: during the height o,f the storm. <br />3) With Ch~,e~ Taylor and Chief VanKuren, Safety Director attended a collective bar- <br />gaining seminar sponsored by the Ohio Municipal League and Calfee, Halter and Griswold. <br />4) Commented on the successful Open House on February 26th and thanked the many people <br />and departments involved. <br />
