<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF .NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 22, 1986 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Lackey, McKay, O'Grady, <br />Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. (Councilman Lackey present at <br />8:55 P.M.) <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director <br />Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council .Florence Campbell. <br />Special Council Meeting was .called to order by President Saringer at 8:30 P.M., <br />in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of October 7, 1986, were approved. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Members of .the administration attended a "kick-off" <br />meeting with the other Project Team Members from Maple-Heights, RTA and Pete, <br />Marwick, Mitchell and Company. This begins .the twenty-six week audit process. <br />2) Letter was received .from East Ohio Gas Company announcing a 25.3 per 1,000 <br />cubic feet reduction, beginning Nouember 10th through January, 1987. <br />3) Gity is in the process of arranging traffic counts at the intersection of <br />Columbia Road and Butternut Ridge Road to determine if the existing signal is <br />warranted. This will determine whether there is a need for the stop sign. <br />4) City is cosponsoring a Halloween. Party at Horizons on October 31st, from <br />3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. Would remind .everyone that the hours for Halloween are <br />from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. <br />5) North Olmsted city employees contributed the highest amount collected for the <br />United Way this year since records started being kept in 1982; congratulations <br />to Tom Fabek who chaired the drive. <br />6) Would like to publicly thank Service Director Rick Noble who won a pavement <br />breaker valued at $760 and. donated. it to the City of North Olmsted, <br />7) Budget and Management Director Cunningham reported $83,046 collected by RITA <br />from October 13th through the 21st. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) Had reported at ,the last Council Meeting that <br />the Romp Trial would begin last Tuesday. .This was postponed, .placed on hold and <br />Law Director has been patiently waiting; there is a possibility that it may go <br />tomorrow. One of the difficulties is that he has two expert witnesses waiting to <br />testify. Hopefully, this trial will take place within the next week or so. <br />2) Just today, finished the first draft of the Gooper Brief which is due next <br />month. Has worked with some of the law firms which are now working with the city <br />and therefore are ahead of schedule on this. <br /> <br />
