MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF .THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 2, 1986 <br />Present: President Dwayne Woerpel, Councilmen Lackey, McKay,. O'Grady, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council .Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Woerpel at 8:15 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of regular Council Meeting of July l5, 1986, were approved. <br />Minutes of special Council Meeting. of August 7, 1986, were approved. <br />Minutes of special Council Meeting of August 18, 19$6, were approved. <br />President Woerpel announced that the following pieces of legislation were being <br />added to this evening's agenda: Ordinance No. 86-82, to make and transfer <br />appropriations for current expenses for the year ending December 31, 1986; <br />Ordinance No. 86-83, vacating a portion of a sanitary sewer easement located on <br />property occupied by the Great Northern Shopping Center and accepting an ease- <br />ment from the Great Northern Shopping Center for a relocated sanitary sewer; <br />Ordinance No. 86-84, accepting an easement for the installation and maintenance <br />of a water line for the purpose of supplying water service by the City of <br />Cleveland to land owned by the Great Northern Shopping. Center Partnership. <br />Because of council's vacation in August, a number of items on the agenda will <br />be passed under suspension of rule requiring three readings and reference to <br />committee. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Thanked President Woerpel and Councilman Lackey for <br />their involvement at the city's information booth .over the Homecoming Weekend. <br />This is the first time the city had a booth and Mayor Petrigac is very pleased <br />with the good response it received; residents liked the idea of being able to <br />talk with council and city officials. <br />2) City took first place with the city float; trophy is on display in the lobby <br />at City Ha11. <br />3) Was pleased to see at least two councilmen at the Ohio Municipal League's <br />seminar; hopes they will share their experience with the other council members. <br />4) Porter Road has been top-coated; Mastick Road has been completed as well as <br />the Sweetbriar ditch. <br />5) Would remind council of Mr. Branson's May letter with regard to some property <br />he owns; council was to discuss and respond by September. <br />6) Requested council's approval of Bob Grace's appointment to the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals. <br />7) Mayor, Safety Director Becker and Chief Marsh met today in regard to .the general <br />vandalism in the city, particularly the Coe Cemetery vandalism. Would encourage <br />more Block Watch Programs; Police Department will be available to meet with <br />residents to establish such programs. Would encourage all residents to report <br />anything at all that looks suspicious to the Police Department. <br />
