MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE .COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 4, 1986 <br />Present: President Dwayne Woerpel, Councilmen Lackey,, McKay,..Q'Grady, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, k'inance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Wilamosky. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Woerpel at 8:.05 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to 3oin Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and one minute of silent prayer for .the <br />seven astronauts killed in the Challenger explosion on January 28, 1986; <br />"May their spirit live forever". <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of January 21, 1986, were approved. <br />President Woerpel announced that Ordinance No. 86-17, establishing a "no <br />parking" zone at the intersection of Shelley and Defoe Drives,. had been. <br />added to tonight's agenda. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Met with representatives of Ohio Bell Telephone <br />Company last week with respect to the status of an emergency pay phone at 1480 <br />and Clague Road. It was determined ,that there is really not an appropriate <br />place to install a pay phone but the city could look at the possibility of in- <br />stalling an emergency phone in the 1480/Stearns Road area. Also discussed was <br />how the 911 emergency number would come into ,play. Will be meeting again to <br />look more closely at the installation of an emergency .phone. <br />2) With respect to a possible violation of the Zoning Code by the display of <br />used cars at the corner of McKenzie and Lorain Roads, the minutes of the Board <br />of Zoning Appeals Meeting, December 4, 1974, show that a request for a uariance <br />for permission to display cars in the setback along Lorain Road and down <br />McKenzie Road to the existing drive was denied. In researching the records, <br />have not found where this was followed through as far as citing Mr. Halleen for <br />a violation. One of the first orders of business, under the new Building <br />Commissioner, will be to pursue this matter. <br />3) City has purchased the wiring specs .from Architect Mongello for .the Community <br />Cabin. They were taken to the county for approval and .the city is waiting far <br />the county's comments on the legal ad. As soon as the legal ad is approved, <br />the advertising for bids will be placed. <br />4) Would ask council's approval on the following mayoral appointments; Joseph <br />Britton to Architectural Review Board; Darrill Pattison to Architectural Review <br />Board; Milt Gates to Building Code of Appeals; Scott Shephard to Department of <br />Human Resources Advisory Board and John Cimperman to Landmarks Commission, <br />5) Board of Control awarded the bid for the McKenzie Road culvert replacement <br />to Cole Excavators of Berea for $25,630.00. <br />~~,~~.~ ,... _ n,:.„,~,a~~:~~,~~, ,:,, ~,.,. <br />
