<br /> <br />MINUTES OF .THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OE .NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 26, 1987 <br />Present: President Pro Tem. William Lackey, Councilmen.Bohlmann, <br />McKay, Talton, Wilamosky. (Mr. Talhon.present at 9 ~'.~1.) <br />Also present: Law Director Michael Gareau, Clerk of Council Florene.e Campbell. <br />Absent: President Saringer, Councilmen O'Grady and Ra.demaker. <br />Special Council Meeting was called to order by President Pra Tem Lackey at <br />7:30 P.M. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved Council recess until 9 P.M. this evening, secan.d by Mr. <br />Bohlmann, unanimously approved. <br />President Pro Tem Lackey reconvened the Special Council Meeting at 9 P.M. and <br />requested the minutes to xeflect that Councilman TaS.lon is now present. <br />Mr. Bohlmann moved to amend tonight`s agenda. to allow for audience participation., <br />second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved.. <br />Audience participation.: <br />Ed Oliveros, 11592 Park Moss, Strongsville, owner of Eddie's.Nightclub, addressed <br />Council and expressed his. surprise with respect to Reso7,ution.No~ 87~83.which. <br />objects to the renewal. of the liquor permit of Eddie's.Nightclub, To his know- <br />ledge, his establishment has met .every Building Department requirement; has <br />complied with every Fire Department regulation. and has dztly required a response <br />from the Police Department on s_i.x oc.casi.on Admitted .there had-been. problems <br />in the past but felt they had .all been. solved, Discussed his future plans for <br />the nightclub which will eventually cater sal.ely to the 2l and over age group <br />and will incorporate food service. <br />Mr. Bohlmann requested that Council move into an executive session. to discuss <br />with the Law Director some legal. aspects of importance. There being n,o objection <br />by council members, Council moved into executive session. <br />On returning to the Special Council Meeting, audience participation continued. <br />Tom Stroh, 6279 Stafford Drive, discussed Resolution No. 87-83 and suggested. that <br />since Mr. Oliveros has made an effort to rectify the prghlems reported by the <br />Police Department Council should give consideration. to his "good faith" efforts. <br />If necessary, at a later date, Council could introduce legi la.tion.so the residents <br />could vote the precinct "dry" if problems continued. Mr. Wilamosky asked why <br />other permit holders, .who function within the parameters of good business a.s well <br />as within the parameters of the Taw, should be noted "dry",because of dust one <br />problem establishment. Mr. Strah said he feels the people shQUld decide the issue. <br /> <br />
