MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED JUNE 16, 1987 Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Bohlmann, Lackey, McKay, O'Grady, Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance .Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:15 P.M., in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Minutes of the Council Meeting of June 2, 1987, were approved. Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) At the last council meeting, Mr. Wilamosky had asked the. administration to check the proliferation of "no parking" signs on Devon Drive; Safety Director Becker did so and reported there were only eight signs on Devon Drive, properly placed according to code. There are a few additional signs on Hampton and Berkshire Dr-ivies also. 2) A letter was delivered to West 231st Street residents indicating work would begin on June 8th; ditch and driveway culvert piping replacement is being done "in-house". Copy of the letter was forwarded to Councilman O'Grady. 3) Administration received copy of Brookpark ordinance entitled, "Obscenities and Sex Offenses". Mayor will be reviewing the legislation; there seems to be several sections that North Olmsted could use to tighten up its codes. Copy was forwarded to Councilman Wilamosky. 4) Would like council to provide the administration with a copy of the job description and/or scope of service for a City Planner. 5) On June 15th, Board of Control rejected the bids received June 8th for four new police cars since Chief Marsh was notif ied that Marshall Ford could supply the cars at a cost of $14,000, with all options, and this was the lowest price and provided immediate delivery. Would appreciate passage of Ordinance No. 87-59 which addresses this purchase so Chief Marsh could process the P.O. and purchase the cars this week. 6) Friday, June 26th is North Olmsted Employee Night at the stadium as well as "Zuppy Day" at Great Northern Mall; "Zuppy" stands for "zestful, upscale people in their prime of life". It is Senior Citizen Weekend at the Mall and North Olmsted seniors will have a booth there. 7) As discussed in caucus, the. city's three year contract with Arthur Young and Company expires at the end of this year; contract has a one year renewal option; Mayor does not feel the option should be renewed; has written the State of Ohio asking them to do a state audit. 8) Senior Center Advisory Board spent today visiting other area Senior Centers to see how they are operated. 9) Cuyahoga County Commissioners will hold public hearings on whether a tax increase is needed to maintain the County's Health, Justice and Human Services.
