MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CLTY OF .NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 6, 1987 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Bohlmann, Lackey, McKay, <br />O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Rademaker. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:15 P.M., in Council. <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of April 21, 1987, were approved. <br />Mr. Tallon moved to amend .the agenda to allow third reading of Resolution Nos. <br />87-32 and 87-33 at this time, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Resolution No. 87-32 introduced by the Mayor and the entire Council was given <br />its third reading. A resolution commending .the achievement o£ the Eagle Scout <br />Award in Boy Scouting. (Jeffrey D. Dillon) Mr. Wilamosky moved. for adoption, <br />second by Mr. Tallon, unanimously approved. Resolution No. 87-32 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 87-33 introduced by the Mayor and the entire Council was given <br />its third reading. A resolution commending the achievement of the Eagle Scout <br />Award in Boy Scouting. (Eric E. Anderson) Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption, <br />second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. Resolution No. 87-33 adopted. <br />President Saringer read Resolution No. 87-33 in its entirety. Eric E. Anderson <br />was recognized by the entire council, the administration and audience. <br />Jeffrey D. Dillon was unable to be present. Clerk of Council will forward duly <br />processed copies of the resolutions to Eric Anderson and Jeff Dillon. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Has received an appraisal of the vacant land situ- <br />ated between Marquette and Edgepark and Porter Road. The parcel of land is about <br />15.7907 acres, is irregular in shape and does not now have access to an en- <br />trance since Hennie Homes bought the parcel on Marquette, Estimated. value is <br />about $30,000 per acre for a total of $473,720, minus l0~ because the .shape <br />of the property does not allow for complete development; taking into account the <br />cost to the resident, which the appraisor has appraised at about $100,000, the <br />estimated market value for the parcel of land is $326.,300. <br />2) Congressman Feighan is holding a conference for all mayors. in the 19th District <br />;, on May 14th and 15th in Washington. Because of the lack of finances, Mayor Petrigac <br />will not be attending, however, she has requested Congressman Feighan to use his <br />influence with the federal postal authorities to reinstate door-to-door mail <br />delivery on heavily traveled streets, particularly on Stearns Road, from Lorain <br />Road down to 1480. <br /> <br />
