MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED APRIL 21, 1987 Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Lackey, McKay, O'Grady, Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. (C.ouncilman Bohlmann nominated, elected and sworn. in following roll call,) Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Finance Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. Members of the audience were invited to loin members of council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Minutes of Council Meeting of April 7, 1987, were approved. President Saringer announced that Ordinance No. 87-31 would be passed under suspension of rule requiring three readings this .evening. Mr. Wilamosky moved to amend the agenda to allow Mayor Petrigac to .read and present a proclamation, second by Mr. Lackey, unanimously approved. Mayor Petrigac read a proclamation honoring Ernest Ress as 1987 Volunteer of the Year, North Olmsted Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Mr. Ress' family accepted the proclamation and a plaque on behalf of Mr. Ress who was unable to be present. President Saringer announced .that nominations were open to fill the council-at - large vacancy. Mr. Tallon placed in nomination the name of Ralph Bohlmann; Mr. Rademaker placed in nomination the name of Russell. Bierman. Mr. Wilamosky moved that nominations be closed., second by Mr. Tallon, unanimously approved. Roll call on nominations: Mr. Lackey stated $ohlmann; Mr. McKay stated Bohlmann; Mr. O'Grady stated Bohlmann; Mr. Rademaker stated Bierman; Mr. Tallon stated Bohlmann; Mr. Wilamosky stated Bohlmann. 5 votes Bohlmann; 1 vote Bierman. Mr. Bohlmann read a letter of resignation, addressed to Mrs. Linda Shore, President of the North Olmsted Board of Education, resigning his position as a member of the North Olmsted Board of Education, effective 8:00 P.M., April. 21, 1987. Mr. Tallon moved council recess to allow Mr. Bohlmann to be sworn. in as Council- man-at-Large, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. President Saringer administered the oath of office to Mr. Bohlmann.. Councilman Bohlmann was recognized by council and took his seat at the council table. Meeting continued. Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) An administrative committee consisting of Tom Fabek, Don Copeland, Betsy Jack and Pat Martin reviewed .the rates at the Community Cabin and made suggestions to upgrade them. The proposed rate changes have been given to Chairman Lackey, Legislative Committee. 2) Police Department contract was signed on April 13th. i
