. <br />MINUTES OF .THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 7, 1987 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Lackey, McKay, O'Grady, <br />Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President .Saringer at 8:20 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Mr. McKay moved to amend the agenda to allow the reading of correspondence at <br />this time, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved. President Saringer <br />read Councilman Logan's letter of resignation, effective immediately. President <br />Saringer announced that council would be meeting as soon as possible to find <br />a replacement for the council-at-large seat. <br />Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of March 17, 1987, were approved. <br />Minutes of the Special Council Meeting of March 26, 1987, were approved. <br />Karen Novak and Lois Zolar, on behalf of the Lake Erie Girl Scout Council, pre- <br />sented the Aardvark Community Association, 1987 Award to the Administration and <br />Council of the City of North Olmsted for participation and support of girl <br />scouting in North Olmsted. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Publicly expressed appreciation for the excellent <br />snow removal done by the Service Department crews under the supervision of <br />Service Director Noble. <br />2) Safety Director Becker and Mayor attended. a meeting in Columbus to help plan <br />the CIC seminars to be held later this year; will keep council advised. <br />3) City employees viewed a movie, Killer Tornado, and were briefed on what to do <br />in such an emergency by City Disaster Service Coordinator, Mr. Noble. <br />4) Patrolman Dunn, Police Department employee, and Chief Inspector John Muller, <br />Building Department, both retired last week. <br />5) Budget and Management Director, Finance Director, Service Director and Bus Line <br />Manager are meeting with RTA in a pre-audit. Arthur Young is here doing its <br />audit . <br />6) City of North Olmsted has again been selected as Tree City USA. <br />7) By the end of the week, will present a tax plan to council. <br />8) Presented a proclamation which proclaims April 23rd, 24th and 25th to be Knights <br />of Columbus Day for the Retarded to Councilman O'Grady to take to this organization. <br />9) Mayor labeled "completely false" a statement by a councilman that the Mayor had <br />not appropriated money for supplies for council and that the Budget and Management <br />Department refused the council clerk's request for a tape. Council always bought <br />their supplies from "Supplies Account" in the General Fund, as did most city de- <br />partments. At the time of the request, no money was available in that account for <br />any city department; it was the end of the year and the funds were depleted; there <br />was no "petty action" on the part of the administration. <br /> <br />
