MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE .COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITX OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARX 17, 1987 <br />Present: President Pro Tem Thomas O'Grady, Councilmen Lackey, Logan, <br />McKay, Rademaker, Tallon. <br />Also present: .Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gateau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Camphe~.l. <br />Absent: Council President Janet Saringer and Councilman Wilamosky. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Pro Tem O'Grady at 8:20 P.M., in. <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Before proceeding with regular business, Mayor Petrigac presented a proclama- <br />tion to Mr. Cater anal Mr. Dockerty, Rotary Club, of North Olmsted, which pro- <br />claimed February 23, 1987, as a "Day of Hope". <br />President Pro Tem announced that President Saringer is still a patient at <br />St. John's West shore Hospital and encouraged .everyone to drop her a card. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported:. 1) The six cities comprising WEB met on Wednesday, <br />February 4th, in North Olmsted, to approve .the appropriations for 1987. <br />She will be signing all purchases since North. Olmsted is the host city for <br />1987. Finance Director Tom Malone, of Fairview Park, will serve as Finance <br />Director for WEB. <br />2) Law Director Gateau, Mary Slama, Safety Director Becker and Mayor Petrigac <br />met with Mayor Gaul to see how they deal with tax abatement as well as the <br />Community Reinvestment. Area Program. Their program is modeled off of one .that <br />Lakewood has; Mayor gave the Lakewood program to council last year. At this <br />time, North Olmsted is not in need as a city but it is a good program and one <br />that will continue to be studied. <br />3) The meeting with Maple Heights, RTA and the auditors, scheduled for last <br />Friday, was cancelled. <br />4) On Thursday evening, Mayor met with the Citizens' Ad Hoc Five Year Financial <br />Planning Committee; all but one member was present. A11 council memhers have <br />been given a copy of the Five Year Plan; has requested a Council-of -the-Whale <br />Committee Meeting for tomorrow evening to answer any questions. Mayor Petrigac <br />recapped the mission of the Ad Hoc Committee. Pub7.icly thanked Chairman Bill <br />Cunningham, Paul Cowgill, Jack Boss, Don DeBrodt, Larry Schwartz, Ronald Wysocki, <br />James Burns and Eileen Phillips. <br />5) The Well Child Clinic will be moving into the Community Cabin; Diamond No. 2 <br />is being fenced; 43 feet of fencing will be added on the West Park side, provided <br />by the North Olmsted Softball Association. <br />6) ODOT has agreed to resurface Columbia Road, south of Lorain Road. Their esti- <br />mation of the project cost is $150,000, with the city's portion amounting to <br />$15,000. Has requested a meeting to discuss this project as well as the Needles' <br />Project; if possible, would like to meet on Monday, February 23rd, after 8:30 P.M. <br />
