~,, MINUTES OF TEIE MEETING OF TIC COUNCIL <br />~; OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVIIKBER 7, 1990 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Babas, <br />McKay, Nashar, O'Grady, Beringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Edward Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director James Burns, Acting Clerk Barbara Semen. <br />Absent: Council Member Leonard. <br />President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road., North Olmsted, OH. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />President Boehmer announced that Mr. Leonard was doing well after open <br />heart surgery and our prayers are with him. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of May 15, 1990 were approved as written. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of June 5, 1990 were approved as amended. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of June 19, 1990 were approved as written. <br />President Boeturner announced that Ordinances 90-151, 90-152, 90-153 would <br />be added to the agenda. Mrs. Beringer moved to amend the agenda to <br />include these ordinances; second by Mr. Tallon; passed unanimously. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinances 90-146, 90-147, 90-148 would <br />be passed under suspension of the rules. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a Proclamation to Commander Keenan of the United <br />States Navy, Mr. Douglas Ely of the USO of Northern Ohio, and Mrs. Angela <br />Brown. The Proclamation established the "Orange Ribbon Campaign" in <br />North Olmsted to pay tribute to our valiant military organizations and to <br />extend to our military personnel our heartfelt appreciation for their <br />courageous services. A copy of the Proclamation was given to Mrs. Brown <br />to send to her son who is serving with our Mideast forces. The <br />recipients were acknowledged by the Ac~ninistration, Council and the <br />audience. <br />Mr. Tallon moved Council go into Executive Session to discuss the <br />litigation of Georgalis vs. the City of North Olmsted; second by Mrs. <br />Babas; passed unanimously. Council recessed for Executive Session. <br />President Boehmer called the meeting back to order and resumed with <br />Reports. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) The new income tax ordinances will have first <br />reading tonight in preparation to be placed on the ballot for a special <br />election in February. Mayor Boyle stressed that the City is in dire need <br />of money to complete the street program, begin a solid waste removal <br />program, and to maintain capital improvements. <br />1 <br /> <br />
