MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF TKE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
DECEMBER 3, 1991
Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Bahas, Leonard, Lind
McKay, Nashar, Saringer, Tallon.
Also Present: Mayor Ed Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director
James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Seman.
Council President Boehmer called the Council meetin4g to order at 8:10 p.m. in
Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag.
Minutes of the Council meeting of November 19, 1991 were approved as written.
President Boehmer armounced that the following legislation would be passed urxler
suspension of the rules: Ordinances 91-180, 181, 183, 184; Resolution No. 91-182.
The following legislation would be removed from the agenda: Ordinances 88-27 and
88-82.
Mayor Boyle reported: 1) The City is involved in two time-consuming projects:
negotiations; preparation of the 1992 appropriations.
2) The funding for vans for various charitable organizations throughout the County
is handled by NOACA. However, before distribution, the vans are sent to our
Service Garage foreman, Tom Demaline. He has the responsibility for insuring the
vans meet safety standards by doing inspections and any needed modifications.
This past year, Mr. Demaline handled eleven of these vans. Last week, NOACA
representatives came to North Olmsted to honor Mr. Demaline for all his work on
the behalf of area charities .
3) On Wednesday, December 4, the County Engineer's office will hold a public
meeting at the North Olmsted Middle School Auditorium to discuss the proposed
Crocker/Steams road improvements. Although the Engineer's office is sponsoring
the meeting, members of the North Olmsted Administration will be on hand to field
residents' questions.
4) Thursday, December 5, at 7:30 p.m. the City will hold its annual tree lighting.
The Christmas tree in our atrium was donated arxi decorated by the Deerfield Home-
owners' Association; and we wish to thank them.
5) On the lighter side, it seems that Smythe-Cramer Realty is trying to sell Fire
Station No. 1! An ad in the newspaper incorrectly listed the address of the Fire
Station as a Westlake four bedroan home for sale.
6) We are in receipt of a letter from Mr. Biskind correcting the deed restrictions
for Ordinance No. 91-132, which is the rezoning of the 1.7 acres of Parcel B at
Country Club Boulevard and Columbia Road. The deed restrictions will now show a
height limitation of four (4) stories for any buildings to be constructed.
7) We have received notification fr~n Cablevision that they plan to run new optic
lines in our City. The new lines should be more efficient, improve their
operations, and improve reception for our residents. In addition, the amount of
outdoor space needed at the Rec Center office will be reduced. The proposal will
be subdnitted to Safety Director Gandy and the Cable Advisory Committee.
1
