t <br />~..., <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 18, 2011 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Clerk of Council Gallo, <br />Director of Planning and Development Wenger, Director of Safety and <br />Service Thomas, and Director of Human Resources Farver. <br />Absent: Council Member Williamson <br />Director of Finance Copfer <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: <br />First Reading -Ordinance 2011-109. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Patrolman Jack Butcher will be receiving an award at this year's Mother's <br />Against Drunk Driving (MADD) awards dinner. Officer Butcher is the <br />department's top enforcer of drunken driving laws with 15 arrests to date in 2011. <br />Officer Butcher has consistently been the top enforcer for the last 13 years. <br />• Operation Medicine Cabinet will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the <br />NOPD from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Residents can drop off their unused and <br />unwanted prescription drugs at the police department and they will be properly <br />disposed of. Please use a marker and cross out the names and addresses prior to <br />dropping off. <br />• To date, 22 officers and supervisors have been trained in CPR and in the use of <br />the AED defibrillators donated by the Cleveland Clinic. <br />• A public meeting for the Country Club Boulevard Streetscape project will be held <br />in conjunction with the October 26, 2011 Planning and Design Commission <br />meeting. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. Preliminary ideas and concepts for the <br />streetscape project will be presented and public input is encouraged. <br />• The dehumidification system and roof replacement project at the Recreation <br />Center continues. The steel decking of the roof and the joists are in need of <br />reinforcement due to the corrosion caused by the pool chemicals. The pool was <br /> <br />
