~" <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 21, 2011 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Kearney, <br />Mahoney, Schumann, Orlowski, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Clerk of Council Gallo, <br />Director of Human Resources Farver. <br />Absent: Council Member Brossard, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of <br />Planning and Development Wenger <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meetings of May 17, 2011 and June 7, 2011 were approved as <br />written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: <br />Second Reading -Ordinance 2011-73, Resolution 2011-75; First Reading -Resolutions <br />2011-77 & 2011-78. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The city started the planning for the city's tent at the Homecoming on August 26. <br />The theme again this year is A Salute to Veterans. There will be refreshments and <br />cake. There will be several raffles as local businesses have extended gift cards. <br />• The city is continuing to vac and jet storm sewers and laterals within the system <br />and is also responding to specific concerns and situations throughout the system. <br />Storm sewer vacuuming and jetting are top priorities in the Service Department. <br />• We are currently in the processes of using additional VAC trucks as demos. <br />These demos allow the city to see how different machines work while also <br />providing the city with additional vacuuming and jetting equipment in the system. <br />• A total of 101 children will be attending Safety Town which began last week and <br />continues through this week. <br />• Drug Use Prevention Program awarded in June will pay for part of the School <br />Resource Officer's salary by utilizing drug prevention programs and initiatives in <br />the schools. <br />
