MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />,~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 20, 2013 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br />Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson and Smith <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Thomas, Director of <br />Planning/Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of June 18, 2013 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be passed under suspension of the rules this evening: <br />Second Reading -Resolution 2013-65, Ordinance 2013-70 and Resolution 2013-74. <br />REPORTS <br />,., Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Homecoming Festival starts Thursday, August 22 and goes through Sunday, <br />August 25. Please join us for the city's event in the Big Tent Event on Friday, <br />August 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This year they city is celebrating the North <br />American Gaelic Games Finals which are coming to the Barton Bradley Sports <br />Complex over the Labor Day weekend. The theme is Go Gaelic! It will be a fain <br />event for all ages. <br />• Bids were received last Tuesday for the Police Station Improvement Project. The <br />contract will be awarded within a week. The project is expected to start in <br />September 2013 and conclude in February 2014. <br />• The Frostville Farmers Market is this Saturday morning. In addition to the <br />weekly farm vendors, the Ohio Historical Society and .the Landmarks <br />Commission will be hosting Bill Meixner of the Society of Air Racing Historians <br />who will speak about the history of the National Air Races. The talk begins at <br />11:00 a.m. <br />• Fire Chief Schepp will be sworn in at the September 3, 2013 Council meeting <br />• He presented recently retired Fire Chief Klecan with a Proclamation. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• He congratulated former Chief Klecan on his retirement. <br />• On behalf of Mayor Kennedy, he will be bringing Council a few more <br />modifications to the Criminal Code for their consideration: drug paraphernalia, <br /> <br />
