MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />,. <br />OCTOBER 15, 1996 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, Lind, McKay, <br />Musial, Nashar, O'Grady, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. McKay moved to approve the minutes of the October 1, 1996 Council meeting; <br />second by Mrs. Saringer; motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Boehmer made the following announcements: due to the election on Tuesday, <br />November 5, the next Council meeting would be held on Wednesday, November 6; <br />Resolution Nos. 96-168 and 96-170 and Ordinances 96-169 and 96-172 would be passed <br />t under suspension of the rules. <br />REPORTS <br />1) Mayor Boyle asked the group of German exchange students and their two teachers to <br />come forward and be recognized. A proclamation, read in German by Councilman <br />O'Grady and then in English by Mayor Boyle, was presented to the visitors welcoming <br />them to our city and making them honorary North Olmsted citizens. On behalf of his <br />colleague Wolfgang Rosnowski, the students and their parents in Germany, Joachim <br />Noske thanked the city and school administrations for their hospitality. Also, he thanked <br />the host parents for the great job they are doing with the students. Mr. Noske said that <br />American hospitality was second to none in the world. A reception for the students and <br />teachers was held after the meeting. <br />2) The 1993 and 1994 audits have been received. <br />3) The board of control met to discuss selling of surplus equipment and several change <br />orders. Surplus goods and confiscated equipment will be sent to the fairgrounds in Berea <br />to be sold at auction. This method has proved to be easier and more lucrative than <br />holding private auctions. <br />4) Cuyahoga County will hold a pickup of household hazardous waste on Saturday, <br />November 2, at the NASA parking lot between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This is a good <br />opportunity for residents to dispose of paints and pesticides. <br /> <br />,....... _ .. ,. ~_n ~~.~ _, _ ... _~ <br />
