MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCII. <br />y= OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 3, 1996 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, Lind, McKay <br />Musial, Nashar, O'Grady, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of August 20, 1996 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer made the following announcements: Ordinance 96-155 will be <br />removed from the agenda; Ordinance 96-162 will be added to the agenda; Ordinance 96- <br />150 will be passed under suspension of the rules. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) The Mayor presented a proclamation to auxiliary police officer Keara <br />Andrea Nockengost in recognition of her professionalism and expertise when she <br />witnessed an accident involving her colleague Bob Greco. Mr. Greco was injured during a <br />training session; and, as first respondent, Ms. Nockengost brought Mr. Greco back to <br />consciousness through CPR techniques, stabilized and immobilized his neck and spine and <br />began shock treatment. Mayor Boyle congratulated Keara on behalf of the entire <br />community, and she was recognized by all present. <br />2) The city has been meeting with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey and National City <br />Investments regarding bonding. The Finance Director will have a further report on this <br />issue. <br />Law Director Gareau: 1) The final dismissal entry was received in the Melko case. <br />(Building Department inspection case.) <br />2) As the Mayor mentioned, a meeting was held with bond counsel and National City <br />Bank regarding the city's strategy in New York at the bond rating meetings. <br />3) Along with the Mayor and Finance Director, met with the auditors prior to their <br />meeting with Council members. <br />4) A phone conference was held with SERB with respect to the employment of two <br />confidential employees within the Police Department. <br />
