<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 16, 1998 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. Gareau moved to amend the agenda to add Ordinance 98-36 on second reading; <br />second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. <br />President Saringer announced: Ordinances 98-14, 98-29, 98-61, 98-62, 98-64, 98-65, <br />98-66 and 98-71 would be passed under suspension of the rule since Council will be on <br />vacation in July; special Council meetings were held on June 8, 9 and 10 regarding <br />amendments to the note ordinances; a public hearing will be held on August 4 at 7 p.m. <br />with regard to the sign code. <br />Mr. O'Grady asked for the following change in the Council minutes of May 19, 1998: his <br />Finance Committee report on page 5, subsection a, the fourth line down, change to read: <br />"abatement on the building for a period of 15 years..." The minutes were approved as <br />corrected. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The Claque Park reopening was successfully held on Friday, June 12. <br />There were approximately 425 people in attendance. The high school pep band and the <br />color guard from the North Olmsted VFW participated in the opening ceremony. It was a <br />wonderful event, and he would like to thank all the individuals who worked so hard to <br />make this a very successful family, fun-filled reopening of Claque Park. <br />2) The annual Independence Day celebration on July 4 will include: a bicycle decorating <br />contest at 9:45 a.m.; bike parade at 10:30 a.m.; a band concert at the park gazebo at <br />11 a.m.; picnic games at 11:15 a.m.; opening ceremony at 11:30 a.m.; a free picnic at the <br />park shelter at 11:45 a.m. <br />3) The ice rink roof bid openings were held at noon today. There were three bidders. The <br />apparent low bid was Franklin roofing at approximately $284,000.
