~„ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ;,,~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED DECEMBER 19, 2000 Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady. Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman. Council President Saxinger called the meeting at S p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. (Mrs. Saringer noted the Christmas presents she had left for all of Council were symbols of good luck, and she wished everyone good luck in 2001. Council expressed their thanks.) The minutes of the Council meeting of November 8, 2000 were approved as written. REPORTS Mayor Musial: 1) RTA is scheduled to start demolition of the house and barn on the park-and-ride property before the end of the year. Also, they are actively working on a celebration party in March of 2001. Z) The city's website, primarily under the control of Mary Creadon, has been recognized for a Community Excellence Award by the Zone Free Cleveland Web Hall of Fame. The website was redesigned and put together by Administrative Assistant Mary Creadon who worked closely with Gary Hannum, Commissioner of Information Systems, and Amy Cornish, Network Specialist. Together they worked in partnership to redesign and to put the website back on line. The guidelines used for the award are whether the site is relative to the community, instantly impresses and conveys enthusiasm for its subject, is useful, is reasonably up-to-date, the download time is minimal, is easy to navigate, is attractive and fun and interesting or informative. Law Director Gareau: 1) A tentative agreement has been reached with the police union and the correction officers union. 2) He and Assistant Law Director Dubelko negotiated with the library representatives, not only for a cooperative agreement, but also for a lease. There was a small controversy with regard to some of the language and Assistant Law Director Dubelko worked it out with representatives from Squire, Sanders & Dempsey this past weekend. ~.b .m~ ',
