~„ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />;,,~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 19, 2000 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady. <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman. <br />Council President Saxinger called the meeting at S p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />(Mrs. Saringer noted the Christmas presents she had left for all of Council were symbols <br />of good luck, and she wished everyone good luck in 2001. Council expressed their <br />thanks.) <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of November 8, 2000 were approved as written. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) RTA is scheduled to start demolition of the house and barn on the <br />park-and-ride property before the end of the year. Also, they are actively working on a <br />celebration party in March of 2001. <br />Z) The city's website, primarily under the control of Mary Creadon, has been recognized <br />for a Community Excellence Award by the Zone Free Cleveland Web Hall of Fame. The <br />website was redesigned and put together by Administrative Assistant Mary Creadon who <br />worked closely with Gary Hannum, Commissioner of Information Systems, and Amy <br />Cornish, Network Specialist. Together they worked in partnership to redesign and to put <br />the website back on line. The guidelines used for the award are whether the site is <br />relative to the community, instantly impresses and conveys enthusiasm for its subject, is <br />useful, is reasonably up-to-date, the download time is minimal, is easy to navigate, is <br />attractive and fun and interesting or informative. <br />Law Director Gareau: 1) A tentative agreement has been reached with the police union <br />and the correction officers union. <br />2) He and Assistant Law Director Dubelko negotiated with the library representatives, <br />not only for a cooperative agreement, but also for a lease. There was a small controversy <br />with regard to some of the language and Assistant Law Director Dubelko worked it out <br />with representatives from Squire, Sanders & Dempsey this past weekend. <br /> <br />~.b <br />.m~ <br />', <br />
