OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 17, 2002 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of November 6, 2002 were approved as written. <br />Councilman McKay made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Ordinance 2002-175 <br />and return it to committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed <br />unanimously. <br />President O'Crrady announced that the following pieces of legislation would be passed <br />under suspension of the rules: Ordinance 2002-185, Resolution 2002-187, Ordinance <br />2002-191, Ordinance 2002-192, Ordinance 2002-193, Ordinance 2002-197, Resolution <br />2002-201, Resolution 2002-204, Resolution 2002-205, and Ordinance 2002-208. <br />Ordinance 2002-184 will be tabled. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The North Olmsted Police are to be commended for their excellent <br />work related to the response, investigation and resulting arrest in the homicide that <br />occurred Friday, November 29, 2002. The SWAT team in alliance with the Cleveland <br />Police Department made an arrest within 10 days of the incident. Prosecution of the <br />suspects is now proceeding. <br />2) The Fire Chief written and verbal test has concluded with four applicants participating <br />in the process. The Civil Service Commission will accept the test results at a meeting <br />this week and will complete certification of the test results a minimum of 10 days after. <br />3) The administration accepted the resignation of Jason Frolo, program coordinator at the <br />Recreation Center. Also, interviews for a new Recreation Commissioner are continuing <br />with several strong candidates in the pool. A continuing, updated contract for the <br />gymnastics program will be introduced to Council for committee review. <br />
