MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 4, 2005 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Miller, Nashar, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of September 20, 2005 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: first reading, Ordinances 2005-141, 2005-142, Resolution <br />2005-143 and Ordinance 2005-146 <br />REP_ <br />Mayor O'Grady made the following report, a portion of which was submitted in writing: <br />1) The city's military support initiative continues. Our program of asking our citizens to <br />donate new clothing in the form of t-shirts or gym shorts/walking shorts, or care <br />packages, for the use of our military people overseas or in United States military <br />hospitals continues until Veterans Day, November 11. If interested in donating, please <br />drop your items with Director John Dailey in our Department of Human <br />Resources/Community Life Services. <br />2) City Hall hours of operation have been expanded by providing flex time to employees. <br />City Hall hours of operation are now 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. <br />3) Halloween will be observed from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, October 31. If driving at <br />these times, please use extreme caution so as to protect our youngest citizens. <br />4) The fall leaf pick-up schedule has been mailed out and will be arriving at our <br />residences this week. If any questions, please contact our Service Department. <br />5) Departmental reports: <br />Human Resources (Community Life Services): <br />The Human Resources Department (Community Life Services) has mailed out <br />175 letters advising low and moderate income families about the availability of the Home <br />Energy Assistance Program or HEAP. Our intent there is to reach out to our most needy <br /> <br />
