MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 2, 2005 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:06 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />President Kennedy asked for a moment of silence in memory of the six Marines and <br />numerous injured Marines from the Brook Park unit. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of June 21, 2005 were approved as written. The <br />minutes of the special Council meeting of July 5, 2005 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: first reading, Resolution No. 2005-101 and Ordinance <br />No. 2005-109. <br />Mayor O'Grady presented a proclamation to Veronica Lommler who has achieved the <br />highest rank in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award. Veronica was recognized for her many <br />achievements in Scouting and in community and school activities. The Mayor asked <br />Jillian Miles and Amber Phillips to come forward and be recognized as they are previous <br />recipients of the Gold Award. The young ladies were congratulated by Council, <br />members of the administration and everyone in attendance. <br />RE <br />1) We are having some success in finding a resolution to the repair of the SR 252/I 480 <br />overpass. The city is seeing some assistance coming our way from both ODOT and <br />NOACA with the significant support of our County Engineer Bob Klaiber for the repair <br />of the SR 252 overpass. Along with. the Service Director and City Engineer, he met on <br />July 26 with Regional ODOT Director David Coyle, ODOT Planning Administrator Dale <br />Schiavoni, and County Engineer Bob Klaiber. Although nothing has been definitely <br />decided, a plan is being put together to move toward a satisfactory resolution and which <br />will address SR 252 by next summer. Of the $700,000+ estimated cost of repairing the <br />overpass, ODOT has committed themselves to $200,000 towards the effort. Working <br />
