~ _f <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 17, 2005 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, <br />Limpert, McKay, Nashar. Councilman Tallon was sworn-in <br />and took his seat at 8:20 p.m. <br />Absent: Councilman Miller <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:07 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to amend the agenda to add Ordinance No. 2005-87 <br />to the agenda on first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman McKay and <br />passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to relieve, pursuant to Rule 45 of the Council Rules, <br />Resolutions 2005-72 and 2005-77 and Ordinance 2005-79 from the Public Safety <br />Committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman McKay and passed unanimously. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of May 4, 2005 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, 2005-65, 2005-67, 2005-68, 2005-69, <br />2005-76, 2005-77, 2005-78, 2005-79; first reading, 2005-83, 2005-84 and 2005-87. <br />COMMITTEE-OF-T - O E RT <br />President Kennedy reported on the Committee-of--the-Whole: 1) The committee <br />interviewed Mr. Conaway for an appointment to the Planning Commission, and the <br />committee found him to be a quality candidate. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to accept the nomination of Mr. Conaway to the <br />Planning Commission for the term beginning June 1, 2005 and ending December 31, <br />2008. The motion was seconded by Councilman Dailey and passed unanimously. <br />2) The committee interviewed Mr. John Dailey for the appointment as Director of Human <br />Resources. He is an exceptional man for the job, and he will be missed as a member of <br />Council. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to approve the nomination of Mr. Dailey as Director <br />of Human Resources for the term of June 1, 2005 to December 31, 2005.
