<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 5, 2005 <br />Present: President Pro Tem Gareau, Council Members Dailey, Limpert, McKay, <br />Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Kasler <br />President Pro Tem Gareau called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />President Pro Tem Gareau explained that, with the retirement of Mayor Musial, former <br />President of Council Thomas O'Grady was now the Mayor. As President Pro Tern, he <br />will conduct the meetings until a new President of Council is appointed. He asked Mayor <br />O'Grady to come forward and in Council's tradition, presented him with the gavel. <br />Mayor O'Grady was congratulated and recognized by all, and he expressed his thanks. <br />President Pro Tem Gareau announced that the following legislation would be considered <br />for passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2005-25, <br />Resolution 2005-28; first reading, Ordinances 2005-30, 2005-31, 2005-32, 2005-33, <br />2005-34, 2005-37. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Thank you to everyone who was able to attend his inauguration last <br />week. It was significant to him that so many turned out to support him an that day. <br />Thank you to Father Neil Kookoothe of St. Clarence who gave a wonderful blessing to <br />start the ceremony, to Finance Director Mrs. Copfer who was kind enough to swear him <br />in, and to President of Council Pro Tem Mr. Gareau who was kind enough to act as the <br />master of ceremonies. All in all, it was a wonderful event. Thank you to Council for <br />their kind words and promises of support, and he promises his support and the support of <br />his administration. <br />2) On Friday, April 1, he met with the Law Director and members of the administration <br />in order to refocus attention on the new fire station No. 2 construction. He had the <br />impression that some aspects of the project were slowing down or were indeed stalled, <br />and action was taken to bring that back on track. It does appear that we are about 30 days <br />
