/~^~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />ilwi OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 8, 2006 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Talton <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of October 17, 2006 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolutions 2006-174, 2006-177; first <br />reading, Resolutions 2006-180, 2006-182, 2006-186. <br />President Kennedy announced two public hearings would be held on Tuesday, November <br />28, 7 p.m. for Ordinance 2006-162; 7:15 p.m. for Ordinance 2006-164. <br />RED <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Thanks to all who took part in yesterday's election-those who <br />voted and the candidates. Thanks to the Law Director for leadership on the Charter <br />amendment issues. It is disappointing to see failure of the school levy. <br />2) Halloween was safe. Thank you to residents for attentiveness. <br />3) Spoke today to the Sons of the American Revolution at an annual luncheon about <br />Veterans' Day and veterans' issues. He will speak at North Olmsted's Veterans Day <br />ceremony on Friday, at 1:15 p.m., along with President of Council of Kennedy. Elected <br />officials and citizens are encouraged to attend. He will be the keynote speaker on <br />Saturday in Lakewood for their Veterans' Day ceremony at 11 o'clock at Lakewood <br />Park. <br />4) Annual Tree Lighting will be held on Monday, December 4, at Springvale Ballroom. <br />Doors open at 6:45 p.m. with official lighting at 7 p.m. Will light the tree inside the <br />ballroom and the trees outside of City Hall complex. Santa, Mrs. Claus, high school <br />band, and the black and orange choir from Chestnut School will participate. <br />5) Representative from senior and adult services will be assisting at the Senior Center on <br />November 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for HEAP sign-up. This program assists needy <br />citizens to pay utility bills. Contact the Senior Center for an appointment. <br />
