MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED OCTOBER 17, 2406 Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Absent: Council Member Gareau President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:04 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the Council meeting of October 3, 2006 were approved as written. President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2006-165, Resolutions 2006-167, 2006-171, and 2006-173; first reading, Resolutions 2006-175 and 2006-176, and Ordinance 2006-178. President Kennedy wished happy birthday to Council Member Nicole Dailey Jones and Human Resources Director Cheryl Farver. RE_ Mayor O'Grady: 1) Halloween will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. Motorists are asked to take extra care. 2) The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 7. There will be no voting in City Hall due to the construction of the front entrance. Precinct 3E will vote at the North Olmsted branch library; precincts 3H and 4G will vote at Grace Church. There is a link on the city website to the Board of Elections site for people who want to work on election day or to register to vote absentee. 3) Pleased to have the ribbon cutting for new Clague Road at 10:30 a.m. this morning. Thanks to President of Council Kennedy and Ward Councilman Nr. Barker for attending. Many other dignitaries attended, including city directors and WMJI's John Lanigan who invited him to his studio this morning. It was quite an experience, and he appreciates the opportunity they have provided the city to help keep our citizens and motoring public informed on that significant construction that has been completed.
