MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 17, 2406 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Gareau <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:04 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of October 3, 2006 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2006-165, Resolutions <br />2006-167, 2006-171, and 2006-173; first reading, Resolutions 2006-175 and 2006-176, <br />and Ordinance 2006-178. <br />President Kennedy wished happy birthday to Council Member Nicole Dailey Jones and <br />Human Resources Director Cheryl Farver. <br />RE_ <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Halloween will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 31, from 6 to 8 <br />p.m. Motorists are asked to take extra care. <br />2) The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 7. There will be no <br />voting in City Hall due to the construction of the front entrance. Precinct 3E will vote at <br />the North Olmsted branch library; precincts 3H and 4G will vote at Grace Church. There <br />is a link on the city website to the Board of Elections site for people who want to work on <br />election day or to register to vote absentee. <br />3) Pleased to have the ribbon cutting for new Clague Road at 10:30 a.m. this morning. <br />Thanks to President of Council Kennedy and Ward Councilman Nr. Barker for attending. <br />Many other dignitaries attended, including city directors and WMJI's John Lanigan who <br />invited him to his studio this morning. It was quite an experience, and he appreciates the <br />opportunity they have provided the city to help keep our citizens and motoring public <br />informed on that significant construction that has been completed. <br /> <br />
