MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
APRIL 18, 2006
Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau,
Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon
Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of
Council Seman
President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200
Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Councilman Tallon made a motion to amend Resolution No. 2006-73 to add an
emergency clause. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed
unanimously. Resolution No. 2006-73 amended.
President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage
under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolutions 2005-188, 2006-81, 2006-73;
first reading, Ordinance 2006-83.
President Kennedy announced the next Council meeting would be held on Wednesday,
May 3, due to the primary election on Tuesday, May 2.
REPQRTS
Mayor O'Grady: 1) City has received a $1,155,000 Issue 2 grant for repairs to the area of
State Route 252 and the I-480 overpass. The State of Ohio is preparing the engineering
for this important project. Hopefully, the engineering is done in sufficient time to get the
project started and finished this year. Will not begin the project this year if it would take
it through the holidays as we cannot clog the road around Great Northern Mall during
that extremely busy time.
2) Recreation master plan Phase I is complete. Phase I evaluated our physical plant and
Phase II will be starting very soon to discuss the needs of the community.
3) Claque Road rehabilitation project is progressing-the culvert work is done. We have
not yet gone to southbound only traffic until some other important work gets done.
Crews from the gas company are working on the street. When that is complete, Claque
Road will be restricted to southbound local traffic only for the duration of the project.
When this happens, it will be the first time the Safety Director directly amends the Traffic
Control File as authorized by City Council with Ordinance 2006-71.
c
