MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 7, 200b <br /> <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of January 17, 2046 were approved as written. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to amend the agenda to include on second reading <br />Ordinance 2006-7 and Resolutions 2006-9 and 2006-10. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Miller, and the motion passed unanimously. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolution 2006-2; first reading, <br />Ordinance 2006-13, Resolutions 2006-14, 2006-17, 2006-45, 2006-47, 2006-49. <br />2) We are working with Cuyahoga County, the State Employment Connection of the <br />State of Ohio, the Chamber of Commerce, the North Olmsted City Schools, and the <br />Church of Saint Clarence in scheduling a `Job Fair' tentatively scheduled for June of this <br />year. It is expected about 80 employers will be on hand to interview about 2,000 job <br />applicants. <br />3) He presented the State of the City address to the North Olmsted Chamber of <br />School Principal Joan Bush. Our thoughts are with their families. (A moment of silence <br />was held in their memory.) <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) We were all saddened by the untimely passing of North Olmsted <br />Police Officer James J. Calvitti, former Councilwoman Carolyn Kasler, and Butternut <br />Commerce on January 19. <br />4) Departments: <br />Community Life Services <br />• <br />A "My Medicare Matters" event will be held at the Senior Center oi~ <br />March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors will be assisted in deciphering <br />the new Medicare programs available to them. <br />
