t <br />`a <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 5, 2008 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Ryan <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />As there was a problem with the audio recording, the meeting was reopened at 8:02 p.m. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of June 17, 2008 were approved as written. <br />Councilman Ryan moved to amend the agenda to add Ordinances 2008-69, 2008-70, <br />2008-83, 2008-84, 2008-104, 2008-105. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Gareau who noted that 200$-104 and 2008-105 were on first reading and the others were <br />on second reading. The motion passed unanimously. The agenda was amended. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the Hiles: first reading, Ordinance 2008-100, Resolution 2008-101, <br />Ordinance 2008-102, Resolution 2008-103; second reading, Resolution 2008-91. <br />RE <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Traveled to Ft. Bragg, NC to visit the city's adopted military unit. <br />Bravo Battery 319 Airborne Field Artillery, which had spent i4 months in Iraq. He and <br />his son delivered the remainder of supplies and gifts donated by North Olmsted residents. <br />(A video of the presentation ceremony was shown where the officers and soldiers <br />expressed their thanks and gratitude for the items that had been sent to them in Iraq and <br />the new items provided to them at Ft. Bragg.) <br />2) Second annual Relay for Life was held on June 21 and 22, and it was an outstanding <br />success for the American Cancer Society, raising in excess of $80,000. Special <br />recognition and thanks to our chairperson Melissa Meredith. She was spectacular in what <br />she did. <br />3) Along with the Planning Director, attended a re-dedication of Frostville Museum and <br />Frostville Village Church, formerly the Barton Road Church.
