'~~.,. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING 4F THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 13, 2008 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Ryan <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of April 1, 2008 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance Nos. 2008-44, 2008-49; first <br />reading: Resolution Nos. 2008-52, 2008-54, 2008-55, 2008-58. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to amend the agenda to add Resolution No. 2008-58 <br />on first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Orlowski and passed <br />unanimously. <br />President Kennedy announced that a public hearing would be held with regard to <br />Ordinance No. 2008-17 at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. <br />PORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Presented certificates to those citizens who have shown the <br />volunteer spirit by coming forward and volunteering to be the first Citizens Emergency <br />Response Team (CERT) in North Olmsted. His secretary, Tricia Granfors, has taken on <br />the additional duty to coordinate CERT in North Olmsted. The following volunteers <br />came forward to receive their equipment backpacks and certificates: Joseph Deucher, <br />Sharon Deucher, Lori Popovic, Charles Werner, Ken Felleisen, Cynthia McGinty, John <br />Schneider, Tom Kemmett, Al Gerding, Terry Groden, Guillermo Camargo, Tricia <br />Granfors. Whether it's a lost child in the woods or a hazardous material spill, these are <br />the people who will come forward and provide much needed assistance. They will be <br />force multipliers for our police, fire, and safety services. On behalf of the entire <br />community, the volunteers were recognized with honor for embracing the principle of <br />preparedness and the volunteer spirit for completing training for the City of North <br />Olmsted's Community Emergency Response Team.
