<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 5, 2008 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Ryan <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director/Acting Clerk of <br />Council Copfer <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of January 15, 2008 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced a public hearing for Ordinance 2008-17 at 7 p.m. on <br />Tuesday, March 18. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2007-156, Resolution 2008-10; <br />first reading, Resolution 2008-16, Ordinance 2008-22, Resolutions 2008-24, 2008-25, <br />2008-26 and 2008-28. <br />President Kennedy announced the first meeting of March would be held on Wednesday, <br />March 5, due to the primary election on Tuesday, March 4. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) A kick-off event for the second annual North Olmsted American <br />Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held on Sunday, February 10, from noon to 3 p.m. <br />in the Macy's area of the Westfield Great Northern Mall. More information is available <br />from Director Dailey. <br />2) The high school PTA will hold its second annual Health, Fitness & Wellness Fair on <br />Saturday, March 1, at the high school from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Dept. of Community <br />Life Services will be there promoting the programs at our Recreation Center and <br />Springvale Golf Course. Those who attend can bring anon-perishable item for our food <br />bank to be eligible for door prizes. <br />3) Seniors needing tax assistance should schedule an appointment through the North <br />Olmsted Senior Center. <br />4) Springvale fish fries begin tomorrow, Wednesday, and continue every Friday through <br />March 21. <br />
