Mw~_ _ ... r* ~~ CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0.2009 -1 BY: Mayor O'Grady AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 943.06 AND 943.07 OF CHAPTER 943 (CEMETERIES) OF THE NORTH OLMSTED STREETS, UTILITIES AND PUBLIC SERVICES CODE IN ORDER TO INCREASE FEES AT THE CITY CEMETERIES AND ELIMINATE OPENING AND CLOSING OF GRAVES ON SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety has recommended that City Cemetery fees be increased and that the City eliminate burials at the City Cemeteries on Sundays and holidays; and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety, to amend Sections 943.06 and 943.07 of Chapter 943 of the Streets, Utilities and Public Services Code, in order to increase City Cemetery fees and end burials at the City Cemeteries on Sundays and holidays; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Sections 943.06 and 943.07 of Chapter 943 (Cemeteries) of the Streets, Utilities and Public Services Code, which presently read as follows: 943.06 INDIVIDUAL GRAVE PRICE. The City shall charge and receive three hundred dollars ($300.00) for individual graves in Coe Ridge and Butternut Ridge Cemeteries. (Ord. 96-46. Passed 4-2-96.) 943.07 RATES FOR OPENING AND CLOSING GRAVES; STAKING FOR MONUMENTS OR HEADSTONES. The rate for opening and closing graves and for staking for monuments and headstones shall be as follows: Ashes Burial Vault Burial Monument/Headstone Weekdays $220.00 650.00 $100.00 Saturdays 280.00 860.00 150.00 Sundays and City Holidays 340.00 1,070.00 200.00 (Ord. 99-36.
