. • - ?s , ? ` 1 '`W'" <br />' <br />? <br />CITY OF NORTH;OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 9 0 -117 <br />BY: THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELEC- <br />TORS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO OF AN AMENDMENT <br />TO ARTICLE III, SECTION 2 OF THE CHARTER PROVIDING THAT <br />THE MAYOR, DURING HIS TERM OF OFFICE, SERVE ON A FULL <br />TIME BASIS, AS RECONIlKENDED BY THE CHARTER REVIEW COM- <br />MISSION AND DECLARING AN IINERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission of the City of North Olmsted, <br />appointed pursuant to Article XIV of the Charter of the City of North <br />Olmsted, has filed its report of recommended amendments to the Charter with <br />this Council, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate to submit the within pro- <br />posal to the electors for their consideration at the General Election to be <br />held within the Citq on November 6, 1990. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL MEMBERS <br />CONCURRING: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council hereby authorizes and directs the sub- <br />mission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted at the General Elec- <br />tion to be held at the usual places of voting in said City on Tuesday, <br />November 6, 1990, the following separate proposal to amend the Charter of <br />the City of North Olmsted: <br />Proposal: That Article III Section 2 of the Charter relating to the <br />qualifications of the Mayor be amended to require the Mayor to, during his <br />term of office, serve on a full time basis. Such proposed amended Section <br />2 of Article III shall read as follows: <br />Article III <br />The Mayor <br />SECTION 2. QUALIFICATIONS. <br />The Mayor shall have been a qualified elector and a resident <br />of the city of at least two (2) years immediately prior to the <br />date of his election, and shall continue to be a qualified elector <br />and resident therein during his term. The Mayor shall serve the <br />City on a full time basis. He shall not serve on continuous <br />active militarp service in excess of one month, either State or <br />National, nor should he hold any other public office or public <br />employment, except that of notary public or member of the State <br />Militia, National Guard or Reserve Corp of the United States. <br />1
