<br />czTY oF xaRTH oI&rsTEn <br />? oxDIrrarrcE rro . 1?69& <br />By <br />AN oxDnNANcE ArMUDrNG sECTIaNs 1AND 2 oF oxnzrrArrcr 3043 ENACTED <br />JIINE 14, 196U, ANINDING SECTTONS 1 AND 2 OF ORDIN9NCE 2821, ENACTa <br />NJARCH 3, 19593, AMMING SECTIONS 1AND 2 OF aHDINANCE 2603 EggCmm <br />DrcMM 179 1957, AWZDING SECTIONS 1 9ND 2 OF ORDINANCE 2214, <br />ENT.ITLED "AN ORDIIdANCJ; DEM-IINING SaT.ARTESO WgGES ATiD BQNDS OF <br />APPC)TNTED OFFICI8L5 AND EtMQYEES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLM`PLT", <br />AS AM M ED BY QRDIxANCE 2496 ENACTED ,TM 49 1957 AND oxDINANcE <br />2533 ENACTED AUGUsT 209 19579, AND DECLARING AN IIMGFNCY. <br />kIHMF.,Ai, the Safety Comnittee and Finance Committee of Council recommend th-at <br />the longevity provisions of 4rdinance 3043 be amended to adjust the larigevity <br />increment to more equitable allowances, and that at the time of the adoption of the <br />nejr pay schedule for membexs of the 5afety Depaxtments, the ad,juetment of the longevii,y <br />increment was inadvertently omitted a.lthough recommended by Comnnittees of Council ta <br />Council for adopticui, and which Counei.l determines to be equitable to coxrect the <br />aforesaid omiasion in keeping with the adjustmente mafle by the Comittees of Couxicil <br />and representative of the Sa.fety Departments at the time of the negotiations relatirg <br />to wages and other banefits applicable to said departments, <br />NOW9 '1HEREFC)RE, BE IT ORDAIM by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, <br />State of Ohi.os <br />Section 1 s That Section 1 of Qrdinance 3043 ena.cted June 149 1960, amendaxig <br />Sectian 1 of Ordinance 2821, enacted March 3, 1959, amending Section 1 of Ordinunce <br />2603 enacted Deeember 17, 1957, amending Section 1 of 4rdinance 2214 entitled "An <br />Qrdinance Determi.nixig 5alaries, Wages and Bonds of Appointed Officials and Employees <br />of the City of North E?lmsted," as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance 2496 enacted <br />June 4, 1957, reading as followss <br />"Section 1: That beginning June 15, 1960, the base salaries of the members <br />of the Police Depastment are hereby :fixed azid determined to be as follaws: <br />Chief of Police ? 59717.28 Annually <br />Lieutenant of Police 69438.00 `" <br />sergeants 6,115.20 " <br />Patrolman for First Year 59190.96 " <br />Patrolman fox Second Year 5,430•72 " <br />Patrolman dfter Second Yeax 5,856.00 " <br />School Guards 1.50 Per hour <br />Auxiliary Police 1.50 Per houx <br />which salaxies sha].1 be payable by the Auditor as of June 30, 196(), as followss <br />Chief of Police $244.03; Lieu.tenant of Police $274.79; Sergeants $261.01; Patrolmen <br />for First Year $221.57; Patrolmen for Seaond Yeax $231.81; and Patrolmen after Second <br />Year $249•95, and that the rate of pay for said employees shall thereafter be at the <br />base rate as herei.nbefore indicated, payable semi-monthly. <br />F.ill time employees of the Police Degartment having completed 12 year5 of <br />continuous service as a full time employee, and only after assumiztg full time empl4y- <br />men.t, sha11 be paid an additional two percent of their base aruual salary per annum <br />thereafter until the completicm of their 20th year of coatinuous service in said <br />department as a full tirae eaployee; those employees haeirg eontinuous full time servici <br />in excess of 20 years until the csompleticm of their 25th ysax shall be paid an <br />additional three percent of their base annual sal.ary; and those employees i.n saa.d <br />department having campleted more than 25 years of continuous full time service shall <br />receive ati additional four pereent of their ba.se annual salary per annum thereafter. <br />In eomputing length of service for the purpose of maki.ng paymEnts in the manner <br />hereinabove set forth for longevity, no credit sha7.l be given for sernice as a part <br />time employee of either the Police Depaxtment or Fire Department. Such limitatioa <br />is onlg to apply for the purpose of computing longevity boriu.ses, and such exclusion <br />for part time service in either of the Safety Depaxtmente sha7.1 not restrict such <br />paxt time service for an,y' other benefit so allowed such paxt time service for <br />employees in the Safety Departments allowed by other ordinanees of the city ar in <br />the Police Relief and Pension Fund.
