F <br />CITY OF NORTH QLMSTED <br />V <br />.,13 ~ <br />~~ ~~~~ <br />aRDI NANCE No. 62 '' ~~ <br />By . ~ ._-z..~ <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1 and 2 OF ORDINANCE No. <br />61-59, BNACTED MARCH 28, 19$1, BNTITLBD ''AN ORDINANCE <br />DETBRMiNING SALARIBS, WAGES AND BONDS OF APPOINTHD <br />OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF NORTH (~:.MSTBD"~ <br />AND DFsCLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That Sections 1 and 2 of Ordinance No. 61-59, <br />as enacted March 28, 1961, now reading as follows: <br />"Section 1: That beginning April 1, 1961, the base <br />salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby <br />fixed and determined to be as follows: <br />Chief of Police $ 7,130.31 <br />Lieutenant of Police 6,598.95 <br />Sergeants 6,268.08 <br />Patrolman for First Year 5,320.'73 <br />Patrolman for Second Year 5,566.49 <br />Patrolman after Second Year 6,002.40 <br />School Guards 1.75 <br />Auxiliary Police 1.75 <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />~~ <br />~~ <br />.~ <br />t~ <br />per hour <br />per hour <br />which salaries shall be payable by the Auditor Semi-monthly. <br />Full time employees of the Police Department having com- <br />pleted five years of continuous service as a full time employee <br />of said department and only after a~asuming full time e~tployment <br />in said department, shall be paid an additional one per cent <br />of their base annual salary thereafter until completion of the <br />10th year of continuous service as a full time employee in said <br />department, when such empl©yee shall receive three percent of <br />his base annual salary per annum thereafter until the completion <br />of his 15th year of continuous service in said depart~aent as a <br />full tame employee, and thereafter shall receive four percent <br />additional increment to his base annual salary per annum there- <br />after until the completion of his 20th year of continuous ser- <br />vice in said department as a foil time employee and during each <br />year of foil time employment thereafter, sh~.ll receive an additional <br />five percent of his base annual salary per annum, as a longevity <br />increment. In computing length of service for the purpose of <br />making payments in the manner hereinabove set forth as longevity <br />increments, no credit shall be given to an employee far service <br />as a part-time employee of either the Police Department or Fire <br />Department. Such limitation is only to apply for the purpose <br />of computing longevity increments and such exclusions for any <br />part-time employee in either of the safety departments shall not <br />deprive or restrict an employee of any other benefit which may <br />be due him for such part-time service as an emplmyee in either <br />safety department, which benefits are recognized by ordinances <br />of the city for other purposes, statutes of the State of C}hio <br />or benefits to which he may be entitled to under the rules and <br />regulations of the Police Relief and Pension Fund or the Ohio <br />Public Employees Retirement System. <br />in addition to the regular base salary, plus increment and <br />other wage increases, ail regular members of the Police Depart- <br />ment, including officers, shall on their original appointment <br />to the department and Burin the first calendar year during <br />their appointment, receive ~1?5.00 clothing allowance and shall <br />
