MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> DECEMBER 3, 2013 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br /> Limpert, Orlowski and Schumann <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Planning/Development Wenger and <br /> Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Absent: Council Member Willliamson <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> Councilman Barker made a motion to discuss personnel matters related to discipline. The <br /> Mayor, Police Chief, Law Director, Finance Director and Personnel Director are asked to <br /> attend. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. <br /> Council adjourned into executive session at 8:02 p.m. <br /> Council reconvened at 8:30 p.m. <br /> Now <br /> The Council meeting minutes of October 15, 2013 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be passed under suspension of the rules this evening: <br /> Second Reading—Resolution 2013-104; First Reading— Ordinance 2013-111. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • Approximately 100 guests were served a Thanksgiving Feast at the Community <br /> Meal on Wednesday November 27, 2013. There were 25 volunteers plus the <br /> North Olmsted Fire Dept., which ended up working out really well. They were all <br /> a huge help. Overall everything went well, especially with this being the first <br /> time the city has hosted a meal. <br /> • The City's Tree Lighting event was held last night at Springvale. It was well <br /> attended by nearly 300 people. Thank you to the Arts Commission for their hard <br /> work on the event. <br /> • The City received ten proposals from qualified planning firms for the 2015 Master <br /> Plan update. The proposals will be reviewed by the selection committee and <br /> interviews will be conducted with top ranked firms on December 17, 2013. <br /> • K-9 Officer Rex had to be put down by his vet yesterday due to health <br /> complications. Condolences go out to Officer Saringer and his family for their <br /> loss. <br />
