MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED DECEMBER 3, 2013 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, Limpert, Orlowski and Schumann Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Planning/Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver Absent: Council Member Willliamson Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilman Barker made a motion to discuss personnel matters related to discipline. The Mayor, Police Chief, Law Director, Finance Director and Personnel Director are asked to attend. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. Council adjourned into executive session at 8:02 p.m. Council reconvened at 8:30 p.m. Now The Council meeting minutes of October 15, 2013 were approved as written. The following legislation will be passed under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading—Resolution 2013-104; First Reading— Ordinance 2013-111. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • Approximately 100 guests were served a Thanksgiving Feast at the Community Meal on Wednesday November 27, 2013. There were 25 volunteers plus the North Olmsted Fire Dept., which ended up working out really well. They were all a huge help. Overall everything went well, especially with this being the first time the city has hosted a meal. • The City's Tree Lighting event was held last night at Springvale. It was well attended by nearly 300 people. Thank you to the Arts Commission for their hard work on the event. • The City received ten proposals from qualified planning firms for the 2015 Master Plan update. The proposals will be reviewed by the selection committee and interviews will be conducted with top ranked firms on December 17, 2013. • K-9 Officer Rex had to be put down by his vet yesterday due to health complications. Condolences go out to Officer Saringer and his family for their loss.
