MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AUGUST 5, 2014 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety /Service Glauner, Director of Planning /Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver. Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of June 3, 2014 and June 17, 2014 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading — Ordinance 2014 -51. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • At the Recreation Center, passes on sale now for the new fitness center. Work is well under way on the renovations at the recreation center. Demolition is happening in all areas of the building. The city appreciates everyone's patience with the noise and new traffic routes around the building so far. • The Olmsted Festival of the Arts, presented by the Collection Auto Group, is this Sunday August 10, 2014 at the Frostville Museum. Come down to enjoy a day of music, arts and crafts, market vendors, food trucks, student art and more. The event is free and promises to be the best yet. • The City of North Olmsted is eligible to apply for up to $150,000 in Federal CDBG funds administered by Cuyahoga County. Funds can be used for a variety of housing, economic development and community improvement projects. Residents are invited to attend a public hearing to voice their opinions on local housing and community development needs. The hearing will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. • The final Summer in the City concert at North Olmsted Park will be Sunday August 17, 2014 starting at 4:00 p.m. Charlie in the Box will be featured; a fun, high energy band. Bring your chairs or blanket and pack a picnic or try out one of the food vendors.
