MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 21, 2017 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, <br />Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service <br />Glauner, Clerk of Council Massarolo, and Director of Planning & <br />Development Wenger <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of February 7, 2017 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2017-12, Ordinance 2017-19, and Resolution <br />2017-20; First Reading — Resolution 2017-21, Resolution 2017-22, and Resolution 2017- <br />23. <br />Councilman Kearney made a motion to table Resolution 2017-14. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously. Resolution 2017-14 tabled <br />by a vote of 6-0. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Swore in Firefighter Tim Fleshman. A copy of the oath is included with the <br />minutes. Chief Schepp thanked City Council and the Mayor for their support. He <br />also thanked all the firefighters who came out to show support for the newest <br />member. He recognized Chief Raymond Anthony from Columbia Township and <br />Chief Hajek from Broadview Heights, Ohio for coming. Mr. Fleshman worked at <br />both places before joining North Olmsted. Chief Schepp said there are very few <br />things in life given to you. He talked about whether it's your first day, last day or <br />any day in between of your job to remember it for what it is and to give back. He <br />also discussed how a firefighter should strive to make their parents, the city they <br />work for and their profession proud of them in everything they do.
