MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED OCTOBER 3, 2017 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Rahm, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo Absent: None Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Ordinance 2017-64. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2017-64 removed by a vote of 7-0. The Council meeting minutes of September 19, 2017 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading — Resolution 2017-65; First Reading — Ordinance 2017-69. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The Civil Commission certified the Police Chief results and Sargent Bob Wagner will become Chief Wagner. Congratulations to Chief Wagner and his family. Director of Law Gareau: • No report, but a follow up comment to what the Mayor said. This is the first time we have had an open competitive examination process for police. We had a number of applicants and the process went very smoothly and we ended with the best candidate possible for the position. Director of Finance Copfer: • The annual information report filing was completed on Wednesday, September 27. This provides investors with additional required information specific to the debt convent that is required when we borrow money and goes along with our annual financial statement.
