The City has put a lot of time into
this and it will dominate my next five months. I will be in the neighborhoods on
as many nights as I can giving a presentation for as many residents as possible.
Director of Law Gareau:
• Thanks to Director Lieber and the Building Department the property located at
30399 Lorain Road had the dumpster show up and they are starting to get it
cleaned up. It has been a disaster and stuck in litigation for most of the past two
years. The issue was changing ownership in the courts and as soon as the ink was
dry on the order changing ownership, the new owner was cited. It has been
substantially cleaned up and there is more work to do as the inside is a disaster.
• Another location just beginning this process is 4033 Walter Road. The house has
a substantial hole in the roof. The City gained access to the house through the
judicial process and it will probably be condemned.
• Lastly, I told you about the house former Councilmember Carolyn Kasler used to
own. Someone came with a proposal to BZBA to build a home on that lot. It was
not approved the first time, but it was approved last night so a new home will be
built on the lot, which was the purpose of the program.
Director of Finance Copfer:
