MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MAY 1, 2018 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney,. Lim pert, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber, and Clerk of Council Massarolo Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes April 17, 2018 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading — Resolution 2018-48. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The Mayor announced the Scholarship winners from the Mayor's race and Fat Heads. In the past there has been a Mayor's race and Homecoming race to raise money for scholarships. This year with Fat Heads also giving some money for scholarships the races were combined and called the Fat Heads race. So instead of having a 125 person race we hope to have a 400 person race and build it to maybe even a 1,000 person race over time. The winners' names and bios are attached to the Minutes. Director of Law Gareau: • The City of North Olmsted has joined the opioid litigation. This is the litigation taking place in Cleveland. The expected start date is in March of 2019 and the trial is expected to last about three weeks. The City is also a party from the standpoint it is self-insured for Worker's Compensation. Director of Finance Copfer: • No Report. Councilwoman Williamson Chairwoman of the Building, Zoning & Development Committee: The Building, Zoning & Development Committee met on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Present were committee members Williamson and Limpert; Council members
